Our Story

GT School is the gifted academy of the Alpha School family. Alpha proved that students can master core academics in a few focused hours a day and love school while doing it. GT asked the next question: what happens when you apply that model to the students who are ready to go further and faster?

We answered that question in Georgetown, Texas, where a flagship K–8 campus was launched to prove that 3X learning velocity isn’t just a slogan, but a measurable fact. The pilot answered emphatically, with students achieving multiple grade levels of acceleration while deepening their academic interests, and all while loving school.

Since then, GT School has grown on every axis. GT Anywhere launched in 2026, bringing the full model to gifted families nationwide. This K-8 virtual academy attracted hundreds of students in its first months and continues to build momentum. The same philosophy extends to GT Summer Camps which have turned school vacations into the proving ground gifted kids actually want.

The MIT of K–8

That phrase was the founding North Star of GT School – a meritocratic, performance-driven school for kids who ask for more academics. Where standards are objective, effort is celebrated, and achievement is earned, never assumed.

Georgetown was the proof. The mission is bigger: there are hundreds of thousands of gifted students whose schools cannot keep up with them. We're building the infrastructure — campuses, GT Anywhere, competitions, community — to reach them.

One formula.

Everything at GT School runs on one formula: high standards and high support and never one without the other. Raising the bar without coaching a child over it is pressure; support without a bar worth clearing is babysitting. Together, they create what we call joyful intensity, a culture where challenge feels energizing, and effort is normal. That's what makes these three promises possible.

Why we built GT School
- from Arvind and David

Between us, we've spent decades inside education from every angle.

One of us built and scaled schools across three continents, including school models in Asia and Africa that proved excellence and access aren't enemies. The other started as a special education teacher in San Francisco and spent a decade at Google for Education building classroom tools that serve over 100 million students.

We come from different paths, but share the same recurring heartbreak.

In every system we touched, we kept meeting the same child. The one who finishes the worksheet in four minutes and waits. The one who asks the question the curriculum won't reach. The one who learns, slowly and thoroughly, that school is a place where you wait your turn. Schools aren't cruel to these kids. They're calibrated to the middle, and calibration is destiny.

GT School was created inside the Alpha family to prove that a school calibrated to gifted kids could exist.

Not enrichment on Fridays, not a pull-out hour, but a whole school built on one formula: high standards and high support are the key to your child’s happiness and growth.
